The debt after divorce
campaign is an alliance between The UK Insolvency Helpline, the
UK's largest free
national debt advisory service, and Divorceaid, the well respected
family divorce guide on the net.
Together, these two organisations
provide free and professional advice to the many thousands of
people who experience debt as a result of divorce. The Debt after divorce campaign is campaigning for:
- Tighter regulation of high interest lenders
- More freely available advice about divorce
- Reform and/or replacement of joint accounts
- More financial support for lone parent families
- Greater funding for free advisory services.
- Banks and high street lenders to provide socially responsible services
- Fair debt recovery practices that take proper account of inability to pay
We believe that urgent action must be taken to alleviate the
burden of debt on families during divorce and to promote the
full economic citizenship of all members of society.

Helpline and Divorceaid can be seen by clicking

We are campaigning for action; the voices calling for change
are getting louder and are beginning to be heard.
The UK Insolvency Helpline is currently reviewing its training
procedures on debt and divorce after consultation with
Divorceaid. It is hoped that in the next 5 years the campaign
will not
only raise awareness but also provide a better service
for those in
debt due to a relationship failure.

Release section on a regular
